Two Million Feet

Two million feet were marchin'
down the streets of London town
but the talkers, they were all talkin'
so they didn't hear a sound
the Three Musketeers, they felt justified
to drop a bomb or two
but I'd bet the others
felt the same way too

and I wonder if we'll be better off
once the dust has cleared away
or if this war was fought for nothin'
and all those lives were lost in vain
and forgive me and my hesitation
if I don't find your speech profound
'cause you'll probably sound the same
next time around

I'm not sayin' I've got the answers
war is a complicated thing
all I know is people die out there
amidst the chaos that it brings
and I'm reluctant to agree
that we have tried everything else
so I sure hope the troops
will lookout for themselves

Six feet may run three countries
these men may carry lots of weight
I've heard the reasons for your actions
and to me, they're not that great
what's more, I'm not the only one
who doesn't trust a word you say
and I can hear two million feet
coming your way.
