This Old House
Well I don't live in any ghetto
my streets aren't paved with crime
but my house, it sure needs fixin'
there's more repairs than I got time
when the mountain winds pick up
they blow a gentle breeze
that comes straight down through the kitchen
'cause my walls look like Swiss Cheese
But I'm alright; I'm doin' fine
This old house might bring me trouble but it's mine
The fence may wind a crooked line
And floors may warp and buckle time to time
Oh this old house may bring me trouble but it's mine
When I finally left my flat
I'd been there for years and years
now I've got myself a mortgage
I'm in debt up to my ears
some places, they've got termites
some places, they've got rats
my attic's full of possums
they're the size of pregnant cats
But I'm alright; I'm doin' fine
This old house might bring me trouble but it's mine
The fence may wind a crooked line
And floors may warp and buckle time to time
Oh this old house may bring me trouble but it's mine
My lawn looks like a desert
dead as far as you can see
but somehow the weeds keep growin'
now they're taller than the trees
the shed should be condemned
someday the roof is goin' to give
and when the rain comes pouring down
it's just like standing in a sieve
But I'm alright; I'm doin' fine
This old house might bring me trouble but it's mine
The fence may wind a crooked line
And floors may warp and buckle time to time
Oh this old house may bring me trouble but it's mine
